              The University President Attends the Opening of the Fourth Refresher Course for Preparatory, First, and Second-Year Students.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, attended on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the opening ceremony of the Fourth Refresher Course organized by the University Family for students of the preparatory, first, and second years for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was organized by the University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector, in the presence of Professor Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, along with deans, vice deans, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, and then a special presentation by university faculties, during which students from each faculty presented an artistic performance expressing their faculty’s identity and their pride in belonging to Damietta University.

In her speech, Sara Emad, President of the University Student Union, expressed her pride in representing Damietta University students, emphasizing that the refresher course is an important opportunity to renew the spirit of cooperation and instill values of belonging and responsibility among students of the preparatory, first, and second years.

Professor Dr.  Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of the Student Welfare Department in organizing events that enrich university life. He stressed that such activities help build students’ personalities and develop their leadership and social skills.

For his part, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, expressed his happiness in sharing this special event with the students, affirming that Damietta University is not limited to academic education, but strives to build a well-rounded, conscious, and creative individual by supporting student activities that foster a spirit of belonging and innovation among university youth.

The celebration included artistic and cultural performances, such as patriotic songs performed by Jomana Ashraf and Hamsa Mohamed under the supervision of Dr. Hind El-Badawi and Professor Hoda Abdel Nabi, in addition to impressive sports performances by students of the Faculty of Sports Science, and a poetic recitation by Hanaa El-Kayyal from the Faculty of Education, expressing her love for her country and university.

At the end of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally inaugurated the artistic and scientific exhibition accompanying the course, which showcased artworks and scientific innovations created by university students participating in the event.

The University President praised the high level of organization and the spirit of creativity that characterized the day’s activities, wishing all participants a successful, energetic, and distinguished course.
