Public Service Center for Community Services and Environment Development


Objectives of the Center:

1. Organize free theoretical and practical studies to meet the needs of individuals and bodies.

2. Provide opportunities for  members of the community to get benefits from the Administration and the colleges affiliated to it  in various fields.

3. Organize training programs aimed at developing the sectors of society.

4. Play an active role in circulating knowledge, culture and environmental awareness through  holding seminars, conferences, public lectures, exhibitions, cultural meetings and environmental weeks to contribute into spreading national awareness, community service and pollution reduction; things that are not within the scope of public service centers at the faculties' level.

5. Support seminars, conferences, environmental weeks, panel discussions, workshops, etc., and every activity conducted by every faculty, which the Board of Directors deems to be supportive of environmental activity

6. Consider modifying the  regulations of the units and their centers 

7. Consider establishing  new unit's centers.

8. Approve  fees' payment for accountants, consultants, etc. for Centers and Units.

9. Accredit the final accounts of the Centers and Units

Internal Units in the Center:

1.   The units of conferences, seminars  and environmental weeks

2.   Follow-up Unit

3.     Technical and Financial Support Unit

Structure of the Board of Directors:

1.    Prof. President of the University as President.

2.    Vice-President of the University for Community Service and Environment Development

3.    Vice-President for Post Graduate Studies  as a member

4.    Vice President for Education and Students Affairs as a member

5.    Deans of three faculties having experiences in the field of work of the Center as members

6.     Heads of the internal units of the Center are members.

7.    The Secretary General of the University  is a member.

The Board of Directors may include two  external members with technical expertise by a decision of the University President.

Terms of Reference of the Board of Directors:

 1-  Frame the general policy of the Center and take decisions that achieve its objectives.

 2- Set the ground rules and regulations of the Center's work.

 3- Consider periodic reports on the functioning of the Center.

 4 – Set laws governing the contracts conducted with others in the areas of work of the Center.

5- Set rules that govern granting bonuses and incentives to staff and assignees at the Center.

6- Approve the annual budget draft of the unit and its final account.

7- Propose the acceptance of grants, donations and gifts received by the Center and in accordance with its purposes.

8-Determine pricing rules for the services performed for others by the Center.

9- Approve the selection of experts and temporary workers from within or outside the University.

10- Consider all matters that the Chairman of the Board of Directors considers to be within his competence.
