State competitive scholarships from the Czech Republic

  The Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector announces scholarships for collecting scientific material required for PhD studies, each lasting one year, and scientific missions to conduct postdoctoral research for a period of five months, offered by the Czech Republic in the following fields:

  • Engineering
  • Basic Sciences
  • Theoretical and Applied Physics
  • Czech Language and Literature

Application Requirements

First: For Collecting Scientific Material for PhD

  • The applicant must be an Egyptian national and a member of the assisting staff of faculty members at Egyptian public universities, institutes, authorities, and research centers.
  • The applicant must not be older than 35 years at the start date of the announcement.
  • The applicant must hold the position of Assistant Lecturer, Assistant Researcher, or equivalent at an Egyptian university or research center listed in the missions plan.
  • The applicant must have at least two years of service at their workplace.
  • The duration of PhD registration in Egypt must not exceed three years at the time of application.
  • The applicant must hold an IELTS score of 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 80.

Second: For Scientific Missions (Postdoctoral Research)

  • The applicant must be an Egyptian national and a member of the assisting staff of faculty members at Egyptian public universities, institutes, authorities, and research centers.
  • The applicant’s age must not exceed:
    • 40 years for Lecturer
    • 50 years for Assistant Professor
    • 55 years for Professor
      at the start date of the announcement.
  • The applicant must hold the position of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Professor, or equivalent at an Egyptian university or research center listed in the missions plan.
  • The applicant must hold an IELTS score of 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 80.

Scholarship Value

  • The Missions Sector shall cover (in cases not covered by another entity) the completion of the scholarship amount provided by the Czech side, in accordance with the executive program concluded between both parties, to match the allowance received by an unmarried mission member, in addition to round-trip airfare, in accordance with the financial regulations of missions.

Required Documents

  • An Arabic data form certified by the employer, indicating the date of appointment and specialization.
  • A nomination letter from the employer.
  • A letter from the employer stating that the applicant has not been nominated for any other scholarship or mission, has not previously received any scholarship or scientific mission, and confirming that security clearance forms have been submitted for travel approval.
  • Two copies of the research plan in Arabic and English (certified).
  • Original and certified English copies of:
    • Bachelor’s degree certificate
    • Academic transcripts
    • Master’s degree certificate
      (for PhD material collection applicants)
  • Original and certified English copy of the PhD certificate (for scientific mission applicants).
  • Three personal photos and two copies of a passport valid for at least three years.
  • An official statement from the sending authority for PhD applicants confirming that the PhD registration period in Egypt does not exceed three years.

  • A certified Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English.
  • Original and copy of IELTS (5.5) or TOEFL (80) certificate.
