As part of the cooperation between the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and the NAM S&T Centre (Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-Aligned and Other Developing Countries), the Academy announces the opening of applications for the Joint NAM S&T Centre – ZMT Bremen (Germany) Fellowship Program on Blue Economy in Tropical Coastal Marine Research for the year 2026.
The program is organized in cooperation with the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in Bremen, Germany, for a duration of three months in 2026.
The program encourages scientists and researchers from member countries of the NAM S&T Centre to submit research proposals in the field of the Blue Economy, contributing to the advancement of research aimed at developing sustainable solutions. It also provides an opportunity to benefit from scientific collaboration between ZMT and several renowned marine institutes in Bremen.
Selection Mechanism:
Candidates will be selected based on the scientific quality of the submitted research proposal.
Funding and Benefits:

The NAM S&T Centre will cover international travel expenses.

ZMT will provide a monthly stipend of €1,250 to cover accommodation and living expenses in Bremen, Germany.

Researchers wishing to apply must complete the participation form, duly approved and stamped by their affiliated institution, and submit it to the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, as the National Focal Point for the NAM S&T Centre in the Arab Republic of Egypt, no later than 29 January 2026, via the following email address:
