Grants of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB)

      The Academy announces the opening of applications for Grants to Strengthen Biosecurity in Healthcare Facilities and Research Laboratories, offered by the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), under the BIO-GUARD Initiative, which supports capacity building in biosecurity and the prevention and response to biological threats.

Objective of the Grant

To support the implementation of activities that enhance biosecurity, biosafety, pathogen detection, and pandemic preparedness in healthcare and research laboratories.

Funding Benefits

  • Funding up to €15,000 per year per project.
  • Covers essential laboratory equipment, consumables, hands-on training, and project implementation-related activities.
  • (Does not include salaries or general infrastructure costs.)

Target Groups

Researchers in charge of diagnostic laboratories or health and research institutions in African ICGEB member states, including Egypt, who seek to improve biosecurity practices and laboratory services.

April 30, 2026 – 23:59 CET
