              The University President Attends a Symposium Entitled “Egypt at the Heart of International Changes,” Presented by Journalist Osama El-Daleel.

As part of Damietta University’s efforts to enhance national and cultural awareness among its students and to deepen their understanding of global challenges and transformations, the university organized on Monday, November 10, 2025, an awareness symposium titled “Egypt at the Heart of International Changes.” The lecture was delivered by journalist and political analyst Mr. Osama El-Daleel, in the presence of former Damietta University President Prof. Dr. Ramadan El-Tantawy, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdu Amasheh, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, along with a number of deans, vice-deans, faculty members, and students.

The event, introduced by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Maher, Head of the Arabic Department at the Faculty of Arts, began with the playing of the Egyptian national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an.

At the beginning of the speeches, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Amasheh expressed his pleasure at hosting Mr. Osama El-Daleel at Damietta University, thanking the university leadership for its continued support of awareness and cultural activities. He stressed that the university places great importance on developing students’ intellectual and cultural personalities alongside their academic education, noting that such events contribute to refining their awareness and strengthening their ability to analyze events and understand global changes with depth and responsibility.

This was followed by a speech from Prof. Dr. Mohamed Shehab, who praised the important role of cultural and political seminars in enhancing students’ critical thinking. He emphasized the need for young people to follow international developments and make scientific use of information to analyze events and face the challenges of the era with awareness and confidence.

After that, Prof. Dr. Ramadan El-Tantawy delivered a speech in which he highlighted the importance of such meetings in linking media expertise with academic reality. He affirmed the university’s support for all initiatives that aim to promote political culture and national awareness among young people, praising Egypt’s distinguished status and active role on the international stage.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabea El-Metwally welcomed journalist Osama El-Daleel, appreciating his significant efforts in the fields of political and media education and his role in simplifying international issues for young people in a refined and scientific manner. He explained that Damietta University is keen to organize such events that connect academic thought to real-world practice and open students’ horizons through informed dialogue and discussion. He added that the university works to instill values of belonging and national awareness among its students, enabling them to become a generation capable of contributing positively to building the nation’s future.

During the symposium, Mr. Osama El-Daleel delivered a comprehensive analytical presentation addressing Egypt’s central role amid international and regional changes. He reviewed major shifts in the new global order and the challenges related to energy, the economy, geopolitical alliances, and information warfare. He explained that Egypt represents a unique model in balancing political independence with international openness, noting that the Egyptian state has succeeded in maintaining its stability and leading role despite global transformations. He also urged university students to follow international issues from reliable sources and analyze them objectively, emphasizing that awareness and knowledge are the true tools for confronting misinformation and fourth- and fifth-generation warfare.

Mr. El-Daleel then opened the floor for questions, giving students and faculty members the chance to raise their inquiries and share their views on key international issues. The interactive discussion enriched the exchange of ideas and broadened participants’ understanding of global challenges and Egypt’s position within them.

At the end of the event, the University President honored journalist Osama El-Daleel and presented him with Damietta University’s shield in appreciation of his distinguished participation and his contribution to raising national awareness among university youth.
