A major sports marathon at Damietta University with wide participation from university leaders, faculty members, and students. The Damietta University Sports Marathon set off this morning, Monday, May 12, 2025, amidst an enthusiastic atmosphere that witnessed a large participation from university leaders, faculty members, staff, and students. The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, and under the leadership of Professor Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, participated in the marathon. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of sports in promoting public health and the spirit of cooperation. He also addressed a motivational message to all university members about the importance of active participation in sports and community activities, as they are an integral part of integrated university life. The event was organized by the General Administration of Student Welfare, under the supervision of Mr.  Mohamed Refaat, Director General of Student Welfare, who signaled the start of the marathon from within the university campus amidst an atmosphere of encouragement and fair competition. The marathon witnessed remarkable participation from university leaders, including Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, a number of deans, faculty members, and support staff, in addition to a large student presence.
