Damietta University Continues to Strengthen Its International Presence at the International Higher Education Exhibition in Sweden
In line with its commitment to international openness and expanding horizons of academic and research cooperation, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, continues his active participation in the 35th Annual International Higher Education Conference and Exhibition, organized by the European Association for International Education (EAIE) in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 9 to 12 September. The event features the participation of more than 250 prestigious international universities, alongside a large Egyptian delegation of 25 universities, headed by Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Accompanying the President is Professor Dr. Mohamed Omran Wady, Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation at Damietta University. Together, they held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of prominent European and Asian universities, including University of Wroc?aw (Poland), University of Oradea (Romania), Sultan Qaboos University (Oman), Istanbul Esenyurt University (Turkey), Cracow University of Technology (Poland), European Dual Studies University, and University of ?ód? (Poland).
These meetings resulted in preliminary agreements to explore mechanisms for signing cooperation protocols in the fields of education and scientific research, exchanging expertise and faculty members, as well as opening channels to attract international students to study at Damietta University and Damietta National University. Such steps support the university’s strategy for internationalization and strengthening its global academic presence.
The University President affirmed that Damietta University’s participation in this global forum is consistent with Egypt’s Higher Education and Scientific Research Strategy 2030, stressing that such events represent a vital platform to showcase the academic progress of Egyptian universities and enhance their global competitiveness.
In a related context, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, visited Damietta University’s booth at the exhibition, where he reviewed the academic programs and educational and research services offered by the university. He praised the significant progress made by the institution in advancing the internationalization of higher education and expanding its international partnerships.
Through this participation, Damietta University aspires to strengthen strategic partnerships and sign cooperation and twinning agreements with several universities it has engaged with, thereby supporting its academic and research mission and elevating its position on the global stage.
