                   President of Damietta University Attends the Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, attended today, Sunday, January 25, 2025, the wreath-laying ceremony at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial at the Security Forces Headquarters. The wreath was laid by Professor Dr. Ayman El-Shihaby, Governor of Damietta; Major General Hisham Rashad, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Damietta Security; and Brigadier General Staff Mohamed Khalifa, the Military Advisor to the Governorate, in celebration of the seventy-fourth anniversary of Police Day.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Mohamed Hammam, Secretary-General of the Governorate; Major General Wael El-Ashouh, Hakimdar of Damietta; along with senior security leaders, heads of branches of National Security, Homeland Security, Public Security, the Military Intelligence Office, General Intelligence, and the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department.

The celebration included the performance of the national anthem and the Martyr’s Salute by the military band, as well as the recitation of Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of Egypt’s righteous martyrs, in an atmosphere filled with pride and appreciation for the sacrifices of the men of the police.

In this context, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally emphasized that celebrating Police Day embodies the meanings of heroism and sacrifice demonstrated by the men of the Egyptian police throughout their honorable history, praising their great national role alongside the armed forces in safeguarding the security and stability of the nation.

The President of the University also affirmed that the sacrifices of police martyrs will remain a source of pride and honor for all Egyptians, stressing Damietta University’s appreciation for the efforts of police personnel in supporting the comprehensive development process and reinforcing the pillars of security and stability, which positively reflects on the future of the nation and its coming generations.

He concluded his remarks with prayers that God protect Egypt, its leadership and people, grant His vast mercy to its righteous martyrs, and bestow upon the nation the enduring blessings of security, safety, and stability.
