Environmental Initiative by Damietta University Leads the Activities of Damietta Festival

               Damietta University’s Environmental Initiative Leads Damietta Festival Activities with the Participation of the Governors of Damietta and Qena.

As part of the second edition of the Damietta Festival, Professor Dr. Ayman El-Shehaby, Governor of Damietta, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, took part in the environmental initiative launched by the Faculty of Agriculture at Damietta University to plant trees in New Damietta City, under the patronage and guidance of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University.

The event was attended by Professor Dr. El-Metwally Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Major General Dr. Tarek Behairy, Assistant Secretary-General; and Professor Dr. Amr Hanafy, Advisor to the Governor of Damietta for Spatial Information Systems and Official Spokesperson of the Governorate.

During the initiative, the two governors planted several trees alongside students from the Faculty of Agriculture, extending their appreciation to the faculty’s leadership and students for organizing the event, stressing its importance in supporting national and local efforts to expand green spaces and protect the environment.

Professor Dr. El-Metwally Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, affirmed that this initiative reflects the pivotal role of Damietta University in serving the community and raising students’ awareness of the importance of environmental protection. He highlighted that the support and sponsorship of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, had a significant impact on the success of the initiative and motivated the faculty to continue launching activities and initiatives that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

This initiative comes within the framework of Damietta University’s strategy to promote environmental sustainability and encourage students to play an active role in serving the community and raising awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources.
