Six Scientists from Damietta University Featured in Stanford’s Top 2% of the World’s Most-Cited Researchers
Stanford University, in collaboration with Elsevier, has announced the results of its annual study that highlights the top 2% of the world’s most influential and highly cited scientists. The list includes more than 210,000 researchers from 167 countries, spanning 22 scientific fields and 176 specialties according to the Scopus database.
This year is ranking features six scientists from Damietta University across various scientific disciplines, reflecting the university is growing research standing and the high quality of its academic output.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the scholars whose names appeared in the global ranking, wishing them continued success, further excellence, and greater contributions to elevating the university’s international reputation. The honored scientists are:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Ghany Oweis – Department of Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing.
Professor Dr. Ashraf El-Bandary – Faculty of Science, specializing in Chemical Physics.
Professor Dr. Emad El-Sayed – Faculty of Engineering, specializing in Energy.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Heryher – specializing in Geological Engineering.
Professoe Dr. Mohamed Sarhan – Faculty of Science, specializing in Applied Geophysics.
Professor Dr. Nosra Ayoub – Faculty of Medicine, specializing in General Medicine.
The university president emphasized that this achievement is the result of the dedication of faculty members in enhancing scientific output and increasing publications in prestigious international journals indexed in global databases, supported by the university’s continuous encouragement and care for its researchers.
Furthermore, the Unit of International Rankings and Research at Damietta University, headed by Dr. Amany ElDisty, urged all researchers to standardize and unify the institution’s name in the Scopus database as “Damietta University” without limiting it to the faculty or academic department, in order to safeguard and strengthen the university’s research reputation in international rankings.
