The University President Receives Former Beni Suef Governor Dr. Mohamad Anas Gaafar.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, received today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Professor Dr. Mohamed Anas Gaafar, Professor of Public Law and former Governor of Beni Suef, on the sidelines of his participation in the discussion of a doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Law.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Ramadan El-Tantawy, Vice President of Damietta National University for Academic Affairs and former President of Damietta University; Professor Dr. Samir El-Gamal, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamel, former Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Gamal Abu El-Fotouh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Graduate Studies and Research; Professor Dr. Hassan El-Mawazeny, Advisor to the University President for Financial Affairs; Counselor Dr. Abd Al Salam Mohamad Raed, Advisor at the State Lawsuits Authority; and Dr. Ibrahim El-Mahdy, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Law at the Faculty of Law.

The University President welcomed Professor Dr. Mohamad Anas Gaafar, praising his distinguished academic and legal career and his notable academic, administrative, and national contributions. He emphasized that Dr. Gaafar’s journey represents an inspiring model for new generations of researchers and law students due to his influential role in higher education, public service, and legal thought, as well as his contributions to preparing and qualifying many distinguished legal and judicial professionals. He also affirmed Damietta University’s commitment to benefiting from scientific expertise and prominent legal figures in supporting the educational and research process.

For his part, Professor Dr. Mohamad Anas Gaafar expressed his pleasure at being at Damietta University, praising the remarkable progress the university is witnessing on both academic and research levels, as well as its support for scientific research and care for researchers. He stressed the importance of the role played by Egyptian universities in preparing qualified scientific and legal cadres capable of meeting development requirements and serving society.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on several academic and legal issues, in addition to emphasizing the importance of supporting scientific research and enhancing cooperation between academic and legal institutions in a way that contributes to preparing distinguished legal professionals who serve society and the state.
