            The President of Damietta University Performs Friday Prayer at Al Rahma Mosque in the Presence of the Minister of Endowments and the Governor of Damietta

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, performed Friday prayer today at Al Rahma Mosque in the city of Ras El Bar, in the presence of His Excellency Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, and Professor Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Governor of Damietta, amid a large public gathering of residents and mosque attendees.

The Friday prayer was attended by several executive and public figures, including Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Professor Dr. Osama El-Abd, Major General Mohamed Hammam, Brigadier General Staff Mohamed Mostafa Khalifa, Major General Dr. Tarek Bahiry, Sheikh Hany El-Sebaai, in addition to a number of members of the House of Representatives and Senate.

The Friday Qur’an recitation was delivered by Sheikh El-Sayed El-Gheitany, while the Friday sermon was delivered by Sheikh Ahmed Barakat.

The sermon was titled “Compassion and Promoting the Value of Mercy,” highlighting the importance of spreading the values of mercy, tolerance, and solidarity within society, and emphasizing following the example of Prophet Muhammad in noble human interaction, contributing to social stability and the building of a cohesive society founded on love and cooperation.

The preacher affirmed that mercy represents a comprehensive approach in Islam encompassing all aspects of life, calling for the strengthening of compassion within families and society, caring for vulnerable groups, and promoting the values of humanity and kindness in dealing with others.

The sermon concluded with congratulations to the people of Damietta on the occasion of the governorate’s National Day, praising their patriotic history and heroic role in defending the home and confronting the Crusader campaigns, while praying for the continued safety, security, and stability of Egypt.

Following the prayer, the President of Damietta University exchanged greetings with attendees on the occasion of the National Day of Damietta, praising the developmental and service achievements witnessed across various sectors in the governorate and reaffirming the university’s commitment to continuing its national and societal role in serving the people of the governorate and supporting the development process.
