The university president welcomed the assistant minister of communications to discuss ways of joint cooperation.

          Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, welcomed today, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Professor Dr. Heba Saleh, Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Director of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated to the Ministry of Communications, in the presence of Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Kader Awad, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at the University, and Professor Dr. Samir El-Gammal, Dean of the Faculty of Law. The visit came as part of the university's commitment to strengthening cooperation with relevant information technology entities. The visit aimed to explore the academic and technological capabilities of the Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University and explore potential collaboration opportunities with the Ministry of Communications, particularly in the areas of student training and supporting their graduation projects through the ITI Institute. During the meeting, the university president emphasized the importance of supporting students' skills and preparing them for the job market through genuine partnerships with leading information technology institutions. He noted that the collaboration with ITI represents a significant step toward developing the university's technical and applied education system. Professor Dr. Heba Saleh also praised the advanced infrastructure of the Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Damietta University, expressing the institute's readiness to offer specialized training programs for the faculty's students and to participate in supporting outstanding graduation projects, as part of the Ministry of Communications' strategy to develop digital cadres across various governorates. At the conclusion of the visit, it was agreed to establish executive mechanisms for cooperation during the coming period, which will contribute to developing students' skills and opening up new horizons for them in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
