Damietta University Continues Its Presence in the 2026 Times World University Rankings by Subject and Maintains an Advanced Position in Two Scientific Fields

Damietta University has achieved a new international academic milestone by continuing its presence in the Times World University Rankings by Subject (THE) for the year 2026, in the fields of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences, reflecting its growing standing on the map of global university rankings.

The ranking results showed that Damietta University was placed within the 601–800 band globally in Physical Sciences, in addition to achieving third place locally among Egyptian universities, which reflects the strength of the university’s research and educational performance in this vital field.

The university also ranked within the 601–800 band globally in Life Sciences, achieving fourth place locally among Egyptian universities included in this ranking, confirming its continued presence in one of the most important and precise international research rankings.

This achievement represents an international recognition of Damietta University’s academic and research capabilities, as the Times ranking relies on a set of rigorous indicators, including quality of education, research volume and impact, international collaboration, global outlook, and knowledge transfer.

In this context, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Motawaly, President of Damietta University, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, for his distinguished efforts and effective role in supporting international ranking files and overseeing the university’s research system, which had a significant impact on enhancing the university’s academic standing at both the regional and international levels.

The University President also extended his gratitude and appreciation to the University Rankings Team, headed by Professor Dr. Amany[U1]  ElDiasty , head of the International Rankings and Research Unit , for  great effort done in this file. These efforts contributed to achieving this accomplishment and maintaining the university’s position in the Times World University Rankings by Subject. He emphasized that this success reflects the spirit of teamwork and embodies the university’s commitment to applying international standards in education and scientific research.
