Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, as an official partner of the PRIMA Programme, announces the opening of applications for the 2026 research projects, for the ninth consecutive year, in support of innovation in the Mediterranean region.

About the Programme:
The PRIMA Programme is considered one of the most significant international initiatives aimed at providing sustainable solutions to common challenges facing Mediterranean countries, particularly in the fields of water management, agricultural systems, and food value chains.

Funding Structure:
The programme is divided into two sections:

• Section 1 (Direct European Funding): Supports joint international research projects.

• Section 2 (National Funding): Managed through national funding agencies. In Egypt, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) provide funding for participating Egyptian entities.

ASRT Funding Scope:
The Academy focuses its funding for Egyptian entities on the following areas:
• Agricultural systems
• Food value chains

Important Dates:

First Stage (Preliminary Proposals):
Deadline: May 15, 2026

Second Stage (Full Proposals):
• Section 1: October 7, 2026
• Section 2: September 29, 2026
