Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, attended on the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the launch of the University Marathon, organized by the General Administration of Student Welfare. The event took place in a lively atmosphere filled with energy and a spirit of competition among participating university students.

The marathon witnessed the participation of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, along with the deans and vice-deans of the university faculties, a number of faculty members and teaching assistants, in addition to students from various faculties. The event started in front of the University Administration Building amid enthusiastic cheers and great excitement.

At the end of the marathon, the University President honored the students who achieved the top positions, appreciating their efforts and outstanding participation in this sporting event, which aims to promote physical activity and strengthen the spirit of belonging and fair competition among university students.

At the conclusion of the event, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally expressed his delight at the active participation of the university’s students in various sports activities, affirming Damietta University’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to building an aware generation characterized by health, determination, and team spirit.
