University President Concludes the Activities of the “Be Prepared” Initiative at the University Career Development Center.
Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, concluded today, Thursday, September 18, 2025, the second phase of the “Be Prepared” Initiative, organized by the University Career Development Center as part of the implementation of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In his speech, the President emphasized that the initiative comes in response to the directives of the political leadership to support and prepare young people for the labor market. He praised the outstanding level of participation from students and graduates, as well as their enthusiasm and positive interaction, which reflect their genuine desire to acquire the practical and personal skills necessary for their professional future.
He further stressed that the university pays special attention to preparing young cadres capable of competing locally and regionally. He pointed out that the “Be Prepared” Initiative represents an important step toward enhancing the readiness of the university’s students and graduates for professional life, by providing a comprehensive training package that includes employability skills and capacity building.
The initiative featured the implementation of several distinguished training tracks over a period of five weeks, including:

Employability Skills: Participants learned how to prepare professional CVs and succeed in job interviews.

Personal Development: Workshops covered presentation and persuasion skills, time management, and teamwork.

Labor Market Readiness: Through simulations of real work environments, students were introduced to the requirements of various economic sectors.
A number of participating students and graduates expressed their happiness with taking part in the initiative, affirming that it provided them with valuable practical experiences, helped them discover their strengths, and enabled them to develop new skills. They also extended their gratitude to the University President and the trainers at the University Career Development Center for offering such valuable training opportunities. The University President expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Career Development Center team, led by Dr. Tarek El-Orabany, the Center’s Director, for their dedicated efforts and outstanding organization that contributed to the success of the initiative and the achievement of its goals. He stressed that this success reflects the spirit of teamwork and institutional collaboration that distinguishes the university.
He concluded his speech by reaffirming the university’s commitment to launching more initiatives and training programs, in support of the state’s vision for sustainable development and the building of a conscious generation capable of shouldering responsibility and making effective contributions to the nation’s renaissance.
