“The President of Damietta University inaugurates a new computer laboratory at the Faculty of Education.”

              Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, inaugurated today, January 13, 2026, a new computer laboratory at the Faculty of Education, as part of the university’s commitment to developing educational infrastructure and enhancing technological capabilities in laboratories and lecture halls. This contributes to improving the quality of the educational process and upgrading the level of services provided to students.

The inauguration was attended by Professor Dr. Amani Awad, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Ms. Sahar Mohamed Nabawy Hesb El-Nabi, Vice President of MOPCO for Government Relations; Professor Dr. Mohamed Hassan Gomaa, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Mahmoud Gaber Al-Galawi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Rabie Ramoud, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Mr. Ahmed El-Sayed Hamed Ibrahim, General Manager of Government Relations; Mr. Mohamed Amin Abdel-Monem Ali El-Din; Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Abdo El-Adawy; and Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud Mahmoud El-Shehhat, in addition to a number of faculty members. During the visit, the University President toured the laboratory, reviewed its components, and learned about its capabilities and the advanced educational and training opportunities it offers to students.

The laboratory includes modern equipment provided by MOPCO, comprising 22 computers with accessories, 22 movable computer chairs, one interactive screen, and one black laser printer, in addition to wall and door painting works. These enhancements provide an integrated educational environment that keeps pace with the requirements of modern university education.

During his tour, the University President praised the level of equipment and technical capabilities provided, affirming that this qualitative addition supports the educational and training process at the Faculty of Education and enables students to acquire the practical and technological skills required for the labor market. He emphasized that the university places the development of its laboratories and lecture halls, in accordance with the latest standards, at the top of its priorities.

In this context, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Mutawalli extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to MOPCO for its generous and distinguished support, which reflects its commitment to social responsibility and its national role in supporting university education and enhancing the infrastructure of educational institutions. He stressed that partnership between the university and civil society institutions and the industrial sector represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and building generations capable of keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements.

The University President also presented certificates of appreciation to the attending representatives of MOPCO in recognition of their prominent role in supporting and equipping the laboratory and their effective contribution to the success of this important educational project.

He further commended the efforts of Professor Dr. Amani Awad, Dean of the Faculty of Education, for her follow-up and implementation of the project and for coordinating to ensure the laboratory was completed in a manner befitting the status of Damietta University and its academic and educational role.
