University President Inspects “Egyptian Faces 2” Art Exhibition
          On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, inspected the distinguished art exhibition organized by the Faculty of Applied Arts under the title “Egyptian Faces 2” at the Egypt Public Library in Damietta.
The event was held as part of the celebrations marking the anniversary of the October Victory, and within the framework of fruitful cultural cooperation between the University and the Library.
Professor Dr. Ghada Mohamed El-Sayad, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts; Mr. Akram Fayad, Director of the Egypt Public Library; Professor Dr. El-Amir Shawky, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Tarek Mohamed Abdel-Hay, Head of the Decoration Department; in addition to the faculty’s vice deans, teaching staff, and a number of students, welcomed the University President upon his arrival.
The exhibition showcased a variety of oil paintings, portraits, and graphic artworks depicting prominent Egyptian figures in the military, political, religious, scientific, medical, and literary fields. It also featured portraits of heroes of the October War, along with historical and contemporary personalities who have left a lasting mark on Egyptian society.
The exhibition highlighted the aesthetic and intellectual value of the Egyptian character throughout history in a modern artistic style, reflecting the spirit of creativity and national belonging among the students. It also included educational outputs from the “Still Life” course for the academic year 2024/2025, supervised by Professor Dr. Tarek Mohamed Abdel-Hay, showcasing the students’ genuine talent and innovative artistic vision.
Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally emphasized that Damietta University attaches great importance to creative and cultural activities that contribute to developing students’ personalities and refining their artistic skills. He praised the efforts of the Faculty of Applied Arts for providing an educational model that combines theoretical study with practical application, enhancing the University’s position as a leading institution supporting creativity, purposeful art, and community service.
