Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, inaugurated today, Monday, August 25, 2025, the activities of the “Be Prepared” initiative at the University Career Development Center. The initiative comes as one of the executive mechanisms of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development.”

The “Be Prepared” initiative aims to equip young people with future skills, under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the supervision of Egyptian universities. It specifically targets university graduates and final-year students, with the goal of empowering them to acquire the competencies required before entering the labor market.

The initiative covers four main pillars:

  • Career readiness skills
  • Digital skills and artificial intelligence
  • Institutional innovation skills
  • Entrepreneurship skills

In his speech, the University President stressed that the “Be Prepared” initiative is not just a temporary training program, but rather a comprehensive concept that encompasses various aspects of life. It seeks to instill a culture of preparedness and continuous development in the minds of young people, making it an integral part of their professional and personal journey.

He further pointed out that the initiative has witnessed a strong turnout from university students, reflecting their awareness of the importance of early preparation for the evolving requirements of the labor market.

The University President emphasized that Damietta University, through its Career Development Center, bears the responsibility of equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills that will help them not only secure job opportunities but also build a sustainable career path—becoming youth truly capable of transforming challenges into opportunities for success.

At the conclusion of his remarks, the University President extended his gratitude to the staff of the University Career Development Center for their sincere efforts in preparing students for the labor market. He also expressed appreciation to this week’s trainers, Dr. Samar Montaser, Training Specialist, and Ms. Shaimaa Rabie, Certified Trainer and Career Development Specialist, for their distinguished efforts and specialized training programs offered to the students and graduates of Damietta University.
