Damietta University President Reviews Progress Rates of the University and Student Hospital Project

           President of the University Discusses Progress Rates of the University and Student Hospital Project with the Chairman of Wadi El Nile Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company.

As part of Damietta University’s commitment to monitoring the national and developmental projects implemented by the university, and reviewing the progress rates of the University and Student Hospital Project, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally – President of the University – held a meeting today, Sunday, May 17, 2026, with Major General Khaled Mady – Chairman of Wadi El Nile Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company, the company responsible for the University and Student Hospital Project, to discuss implementation progress and preparations for the project’s second phase.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab – Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Acting Secretary-General of the University; Professor Dr. Samir El-Gammal – Dean of the Faculty of Law and Legal Advisor to the University President; Professor Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud El-Gammal – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development; Engineer Atef Eissa – Head of the Hospitals Sector at Wadi El Nile Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company; and Engineer Emad Abdel Qader – Damietta Regional Director at Wadi El Nile.

The meeting addressed the progress of work on the project, during which the University President listened to several proposals presented by the Wadi El Nile team aimed at maximizing the utilization of the University Hospital building and supporting its role as one of the key pillars of the healthcare system in Damietta Governorate.

During the meeting, the University President emphasized the importance of adhering to the highest standards of quality in implementation and (equipment and furnishing), stressing the necessity of working toward obtaining accreditation from the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation, which would contribute to providing distinguished medical services according to the latest approved standards.

Following the meeting, attendees visited the University and Student Hospital site to inspect the ongoing work on the ground. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie affirmed that the university is working to overcome all obstacles to ensure the project is completed on schedule while achieving the maximum possible benefit for the healthcare sector in the governorate.

For his part, Major General Khaled Mady expressed his pride in the massive national projects being implemented by the state, emphasizing that the University and Student Hospital Project at Damietta University represents a model for projects established and equipped according to international standards, ensuring the highest level of healthcare services for citizens.
