University President Congratulates Champion Mirna El Tantawy for Winning Three Medals at the African Weightlifting Championship.

Professor Hamdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, extends his sincere congratulations to the student champion, Mirna Mohamed Ali El Tantawy, a third-year student in the Sports Training Department, specializing in Weightlifting at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, following her remarkable sporting achievement of winning three medals during her participation in the African Senior Weightlifting Championship, which was held in Ismailia City.

The University President praised the honorable performance delivered by the student during the championship, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the excellence, determination, and competitive spirit of the university’s female students, as well as their ability to achieve success in various continental and international sporting events, contributing to raising the university’s name high.

Champion Mirna Mohamed Ali El Tantawy succeeded in winning the silver medal in the Snatch competition by lifting 79 kg. She also secured the bronze medal in the Clean and Jerk competition by lifting 98 kg, in addition to winning the silver medal in the Total competition with a combined lift of 177 kg, all within the under-53 kg weight category.

The University President affirmed Damietta University’s commitment to supporting talented students in various sports, cultural, and scientific fields, and to providing an appropriate environment that helps them develop their abilities.

The University President also extends his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Hazem El-Morsi, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, valuing his efforts in supporting sports activities and encouraging outstanding students, while wishing the student continued success and the achievement of more championships and accomplishments during the coming period.
