• Damietta Private University will begin classes starting with the upcoming academic year 2025/2026.

Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 266 establishing Damietta Private University. This announcement was made during a meeting of the Private Universities Council currently being held at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Presidential Decree No. 266 stipulates the establishment of a private university called Damietta Private University, headquartered in New Damietta City. It will comprise six faculties, including:

1. College of Nursing

2. College of Arts and Design

3. College of Computers, Information, and Artificial Intelligence

4. College of Archaeology and Tourism

5. College of Business

6. College of Languages

Professor Dr. Maher Mesbah, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities, pointed out that private universities offer modern interdisciplinary study programs that keep pace with the requirements of the contemporary and future labor market. They are also equipped with the latest educational systems and advanced infrastructure, in addition to laboratories equipped with the latest equipment. He emphasized that private universities are not-for-profit, as revenues are reinvested in developing infrastructure and information technology. The Secretary of the Private Universities Council added that private universities are considered fourth-generation universities, relying on the latest international educational systems and equipped with the latest technological means to serve the educational, training, and research processes. They also offer modern interdisciplinary study programs that keep pace with the requirements of future jobs. In this context, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta Private University, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency President Abd Al Fattah El-Sisi for his continued support for higher education and for issuing the presidential decree establishing the university. He also thanked Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for his significant efforts and full support for the establishment of Damietta Private University.
