Damietta University Council Honors Champion Hagar El-Abbasi for Her Outstanding Achievements and Gold Medal Win at Benha University’s Second Sports Festival
During its meeting on Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Damietta University Council honored student
Hagar Mostafa Fathy El-Abbasi, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Commerce, in recognition of her gold medal victory at the national level in the Second Sports Festival hosted by Benha University. The honor also comes as a tribute to her distinguished sports career filled with achievements at both the local and international levels.
During the ceremony, the Council reviewed the champion’s impressive record, which includes a series of accomplishments over the past years, such as:

2022 Republic Championship: Gold medal – First place nationwide.

2022 Africa Championship Training Camp: Won four gold medals.

2023 Republic Championship: Gold medal – First place.

World Championship in Sharm El-Sheikh: First place worldwide, winning two gold medals.

2024 Republic Championship: First place (gold) in juniors and three bronze medals in seniors.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, expressed the university’s pride in the remarkable achievements of the student, noting that Hagar’s accomplishments reflect strong determination and a unique competitive spirit. He added that she serves as an inspirational role model for all university students, especially students of determination.
The University President also directed the provision of all possible facilities and support for students of determination to enable them to participate in sports and student activities that develop their skills and enhance their capabilities, empowering them to achieve even greater accomplishments at the local and international levels.
