The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) – as the official partner of the PRIMA Program – announces the opening of applications for the 2025 PRIMA projects, marking the program’s 8^th consecutive year. This initiative aims to support joint scientific cooperation to advance research and innovation in the Mediterranean region.

What is the PRIMA Program?

PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) is one of the leading international support programs for research and innovation. It focuses on finding sustainable solutions to the challenges of water, agriculture, and food systems in Mediterranean countries.

2025 PRIMA Program Theme:

"Enhancing environmental resilience through ecosystem restoration and nature-based solutions"

Focus Areas:

• Agriculture
• Water Management

Objectives:

• Enhancing biodiversity
• Optimal use of water resources
• Climate change adaptation

Funding Structure:

• Section 1: Funded by the European Commission
• Section 2: Funded locally (Egypt represented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority – STDF)

Available opportunities through the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) under Section 2 are in the areas of:
