**University President Attends Workshop on
“The Unified Reference Framework for Faculties’ Regulations According to the Credit-Hour System”**
Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, attended on Monday, 17 November 2025, the activities of the workshop organized by the university under the title:
“The Unified Reference Framework for Faculties’ Regulations According to the Credit-Hour System, in line with the Higher Education Reference Framework of the Arab Republic of Egypt.”
This workshop comes as part of the university’s commitment to developing its educational system and unifying academic regulations across all faculties, in preparation for the full implementation of the credit-hour system, in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework and the reference guidelines issued by the Supreme Council of Universities.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Omran, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center; in addition to faculty deans, vice-deans, members of the teaching staff, teaching assistants, and directors of units concerned with assessment, evaluation, and university education development.
In his opening remarks, the University President emphasized that this workshop represents a practical step toward updating academic programs and unifying work standards and visions across the university’s faculties. He stressed that the implementation of the credit-hour system marks a qualitative shift toward more flexible study programs, giving students greater freedom to choose courses that match their interests and future specializations, and that meet the needs of both local and international labor markets.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that the workshop aligns with the university’s strategic plan to develop the educational process. He pointed out that the credit-hour system contributes to enhancing students’ competitiveness and improving the quality of educational outcomes while maintaining accredited academic standards.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Omran, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, stated that the unified reference framework serves as the foundation for achieving full alignment with the national standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE). He explained that unifying course specifications and intended learning outcomes would facilitate internal and external review processes, accelerate institutional, and program accreditation procedures. He also confirmed the Center’s readiness to provide full technical support and training to faculties in the coming period.
The University President reiterated that adopting the unified reference framework is an essential step in enhancing the quality of the educational process and meeting the requirements of institutional and program accreditation by NAQAAE.
The workshop addressed several key topics, including:
Reviewing the Higher Education Reference Framework in Egypt
Discussing mechanisms for unifying academic regulations and study plans for each program
Developing unified standards for course specifications and intended learning outcomes
Enhancing the role of assessment and evaluation units in monitoring implementation
The workshop concluded with an open discussion session during which participants presented their suggestions and recommendations.
