The ALECSO Award for Creativity and Innovation for Young Researchers

       As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision to support scientific research and promote innovation, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture has announced the opening of applications for the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Award for Creativity and Innovation for Young Researchers in the Arab World, for its current cycle (2025–2026), hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.

The award aims to encourage young Arab researchers to present innovative ideas and solutions in scientific and technological research, thereby addressing development challenges, supporting the transition toward a knowledge-based economy, and enhancing the role of scientific research in serving society.

This year, the award focuses on several priority topics, including health vigilance, air quality, and the sustainable treatment of medical and hazardous waste, reflecting a trend toward supporting practical solutions to environmental and developmental challenges.

The award includes three main categories:

  • Category 1: Best innovative applied scientific research addressing priority development issues

  • Category 2: Best patent or scientific innovation that is applicable and offers practical solutions

  • Category 3: Best project submitted by a scientific institution (university or research center) in the fields of innovation and scientific research

These categories reflect the award’s orientation toward supporting both individual and institutional innovation and linking scientific research to practical applications that serve Arab societies.
