ISESCO-Azerbaijan "Natavan" Prize

       The Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture Announces the ICESCO–Azerbaijan “Natavan” Prize for Excellence in the Field of Cultural Heritage Preservation and Management

prof./ Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, emphasized the important role played by the Commission in implementing national, regional, and international projects and announcing international awards in cooperation with UNESCO, ALECSO, and ICESCO. He noted that these efforts contribute to achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 and strengthen Egypt’s representation in international forums.

In this context, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), announces the ICESCO–Azerbaijan "Natavan" Prize for Excellence in Cultural Heritage.

prof./ Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training, and Labor Market Qualification, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector, and Supervisor of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, explained that the "Natavan" Prize aims to promote excellence in cultural heritage, highlight best practices in the fields of heritage preservation and management within ICESCO member states, encourage the adoption of advanced methods, and enhance cooperation between countries to preserve and promote their heritage. The prize also honors outstanding individuals and celebrates their remarkable contributions to cultural heritage protection.

prof./ Rami Magdy, Assistant Secretary-General of the National Commission for ICESCO Affairs, pointed out that the prize is awarded once every two years and includes two main awards:

  • A monetary prize of USD 100,000 for the winning project in recognition of its exceptional achievement and significant contribution to the goals and criteria of the prize.
  • A monetary prize of USD 30,000 for the winning individual, acknowledging their outstanding and exceptional efforts in the field of cultural heritage preservation.

?? Applicants interested in this prize must submit a copy of the proposed project and the completed nomination form to the Egyptian National Commission via email no later than October 10, 2025, to allow the Commission to evaluate the applications and forward them to the Organization.
