In an atmosphere filled with pride and joy, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, announced the approval issued by the Supreme Council for Technological Education—chaired by Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research—regarding the establishment of Damietta Technological University, which will become a new scientific institution added to the higher education system in Damietta Governorate.

Dr. Hemdan confirmed that this historic step comes as a culmination of continuous efforts and significant support from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He pointed out that the new technological university will contribute to preparing distinguished graduates in modern applied and technological fields, meeting the needs of both the local and regional labor markets, and supporting the state’s plan for sustainable industrial and technological transformation.

He added that the establishment of Damietta Technological University represents a qualitative leap in the educational progress in Damietta and strengthens its position as one of the leading educational centers in the Nile Delta.

In this context, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally extended his highest appreciation and gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for his continuous support for the development of the higher education system in Egypt and his deep interest in expanding the establishment of technological universities that meet the demands of the modern era and the contemporary labor market.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for his generous support and ongoing efforts to advance technological education, as well as his belief in the vital role of technological universities in building a scientifically and skillfully qualified generation.
