Damietta University won fourth place in the third hackathon for smart solutions to new and renewable energy challenges, which was organized by the Electronics Research Institute in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamad Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. More than 80 teams from more than 40 participated in the competition. A group of universities, research centers, and various parties interested in the field of new and renewable energy, during the period from April 26 to 28, 2024. The Air Splitters team, advanced with its graduation project in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University’s College of Engineering, won fourth place under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Mahmoud Abd Al Hady, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The idea of ??the project aims to design and implement a green hydrogen production cell through the electrolysis of water vapor in the air and exploiting solar energy to produce electrical energy based on the state’s Vision 2030.
