University President Inaugurates Workshop on "Training Ambassadors of Excellence" in Preparation for the Egypt Government Excellence Award

          As part of Damietta University’s preparations to launch the second edition of its Internal Excellence Award — aimed at enhancing competitiveness and improving institutional performance across faculties and departments — Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, inaugurated a specialized training workshop on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, under the title: "Training Ambassadors of Excellence on Preparing Application Files for the Award."

The workshop is part of the university’s broader efforts to ensure effective participation in the Egypt Government Excellence Award, under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation.

The event was attended by the award coordinator and several internal evaluators from the university. During the workshop, participants reviewed the themes and criteria of the Government Institutional Excellence Model, and engaged in hands-on training sessions on preparing nomination files in line with the approved methodologies and standards.

Also in attendance was Professor Dr. Mohamad Imran Wadi, Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and University Performance Evaluation, who presented the key skills and professional steps required for effective file preparation. He emphasized the importance of aligning with excellence standards to ensure the university’s strong representation at the national level.

In his opening remarks, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally stressed that Damietta University is strongly committed to applying quality and excellence standards, and that this workshop represents a key milestone in the university’s roadmap toward institutional excellence and leadership among Egyptian universities. He also underscored the importance of continuous training and capacity-building to sustain excellence in performance.

This workshop reflects the university’s strategic efforts to develop institutional capabilities and foster an organizational culture of innovation and continuous improvement — in alignment with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
