Graduation Ceremony of the First Cohort of Graduates of New Mansoura National University

         President of Damietta University Attends the Graduation Ceremony of the First Cohort of Graduates of New Mansoura National University.

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, attended the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of graduates of New Mansoura National University. The ceremony was also attended by Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia; Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakhary, Chair of the Board of Trustees of New Mansoura National University; Prof. Dr. Moawad El-Kholy, President of New Mansoura National University; a number of university presidents; senior leaders of New Mansoura National University; program coordinators; faculty members; parents; and students.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour congratulated the new graduates and the New Mansoura National University community, expressing his appreciation for the university’s important scientific role within the higher education and scientific research system. He noted that Egypt is witnessing a major leap in higher education and scientific research thanks to the strong support provided by the political leadership to achieve educational advancement in Egypt.

Dr. Ashour praised the university’s role in offering modern academic programs that keep pace with labor market requirements, affirming the Ministry’s commitment to providing all means of success to every academic institution that contributes to building the nation’s youth and qualifying graduates to meet the needs of future jobs.

The Minister explained that the Ministry is working on several key axes to develop the educational system, including linking education to the labor market and encouraging scientific research and innovation, as research is the main driver of progress and development. Efforts are underway to provide the necessary support for researchers and scientists, in addition to transforming Egyptian universities into smart universities that rely on modern technology in education and research, as well as establishing partnerships between Egyptian universities and prestigious international universities.

Dr. Ashour emphasized that the Ministry’s vision for developing higher education and scientific research is based on strengthening interdisciplinary programs at national universities. These programs provide distinguished education in overlapping specializations to keep pace with current challenges and the rapid changes in the labor market.

He also urged the new graduates to continuously keep up with developments in their fields of specialization and to work on developing their scientific and practical skills to ensure leadership in their fields at the local, regional, and international levels.

For his part, Major General Tarek Marzouk affirmed that New Mansoura National University has become one of the main pillars of higher education in the governorate and the region, highlighting its important role in supporting development, urban expansion, attracting students, and raising the efficiency of graduates. He stressed that the university represents a real addition to the educational system in the governorate, and affirmed the governorate’s commitment to supporting efforts to advance university education and to providing an educational environment that supports innovation and encourages academic excellence to prepare students for the labor market.

Prof. Dr. Nadia Zakhary stated that the university represents a unique model of integrating the national vision with sound institutional governance. She explained that the Board of Trustees has played a pivotal role since the establishment of the university in supporting it, setting strategic frameworks that ensure sustainability and quality of education, and following up on the implementation of the vision on the ground. She noted that graduating the first cohort does not represent the end of a phase, but rather the beginning of a greater responsibility toward future generations.

Prof. Dr. Moawad El-Kholy pointed out that the university is celebrating the graduation of the first cohort from four faculties: the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Computer Science. He added that the end of the current academic year will witness the graduation of the first cohorts from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Computer Engineering, reflecting the completion of the medical and engineering faculties system at the university. He further explained that the university is preparing in the coming phase to graduate students from the Faculties of Nursing and Applied Health Sciences, in parallel with preparations to operate five new faculties: Physical Therapy, Humanities and Social Sciences, Media, and Textile Engineering and Sciences, in addition to the planned future expansion to ensure a comprehensive and integrated educational system.

Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally expressed his happiness and pride in participating in the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of graduates of New Mansoura National University, praising the remarkable development in the university’s academic infrastructure and its modern educational programs, which reflect the state’s vision to advance the higher education system. He extended his congratulations to the graduates and their families, wishing them continued success in their professional careers, and affirmed that national universities have become a key partner in preparing qualified cadres who effectively contribute to achieving comprehensive development goals.

The attendees listened to a number of national musical and singing performances presented by the university choir.

At the end of the ceremony, the Minister presented certificates of excellence to outstanding students at the university and wished everyone success.

On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Ayman Ashour toured an exhibition showcasing student projects, including several award-winning projects from various competitions. The Minister listened to a detailed explanation of the projects implemented by the students and praised their high standard, noting that they could be put into practice to benefit society.
