The University President witnesses the inauguration of the activities of the Third International Scientific Conference

            Today, May 2, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, witnessed the inauguration of the activities of the Third International Scientific Conference DICPT3, which was organized by the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Delta University under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamad Ayman Ahmed Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Mohamad Rabie Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Delta University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Yahya Abd Al Azim Al-Mashad, President of Delta University of Science and Technology, Eng. Osama Mohammad Rabie Nasser, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Eng. Mohamad Rabie Nasser, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, under the title “Technologies Innovative physical therapy to enhance health care, over two days, Thursday and Friday, May 2 and 3, in the university’s conference hall. He was accompanied by Professor Dr. Mohamad Abd Al Hamid Shehab, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs and Acting Secretary-General of the University, and Professor Dr. Hamid Al-Far, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Faculty of Arts. The conference aims to enhance health care methods by following modern strategies that are compatible with the specific goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030. It includes several important topics in control and treatment as follows:

- Evidence-based physical therapy in various specialties

- Sensory integration for people of determination

- A new era in the management of spinal deformities

- Technology-based therapy

- As well as tissue engineering (nanoparticles and composite materials)

- Recent developments in the prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries

- Natural treatment for diabetic foot

- Rehabilitation of burns and their consequences

- Pelvic floor dysfunction

The conference included 52 research contributions and 10 workshops in the field of physical therapy from 8 Arab and foreign countries (Egypt, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand, and Indonesia), and a delegation that included a number of Lebanese universities, namely the Lebanese University, the Lebanese German University, Beirut Arab University, and Saint Joseph University. The conference also included a group of discussion panels that revolved around several topics, including technology-based treatment, which includes (artificial intelligence, virtual reality, robot-assisted treatment, and remote rehabilitation), a group of presentations, and some special offers for companies. During the opening session, Dr. Mohamed Rabie Nasser welcomed the audience and stressed the importance of benefiting from scientific research by linking the needs of the labor market with the needs of society, referring to the initiative of His Excellency President Abd Al Fattah El-Sisi, which aims for practical application and linking theoretical and practical experiences. Regarding the latest therapeutic techniques at the university, Dr. Ayman Mukhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, thanked the leadership, faculty members and staff of Delta University for the amount of effort made to raise the level of medical care that is unparalleled in the field of physical therapy. Professor Dr. Yahya Abd Al-Azim Al-Mashad, President of the University, added that the conference seeks to improve medical services and care, increase opportunities for prevention, and build a future for future generations based on quality of life, through the exchange of scientific, medical, and academic experiences, pointing to the university’s efforts to encourage scientific research, as the university’s scientific research production increased in the year 2023 to 1,500 published papers in various scientific and medical fields at the university. At the conclusion of the conference opening activities, the Delta University shield was presented to  Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, who in turn appreciated the role of Delta University in serving the community and fruitful academic cooperation with other universities in enriching scientific research in line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
