President of the University Discusses Preparations for Participation in the Egypt Government Excellence Award – 5th Edition 2026
As part of Damietta University’s commitment to promoting a culture of institutional excellence and improving administrative performance, Prof. Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, held an expanded meeting on Monday, April 27, 2025, with members of the University’s Government Excellence Team to discuss preparations for participating in the Egypt Government Excellence Award, 5th edition (2026).
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. El-Metwally Mostafa Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
During the meeting, the University President reviewed the award’s main pillars and categories, which aim to support institutional excellence, improve the quality of government services, and encourage innovation and positive competition among government entities, contributing to enhanced institutional performance.
The meeting also addressed the key award categories, including:
Distinguished Institution Award (Government Colleges Category)
Best Joint Project/Initiative Award
Excellence in Government Service Delivery Award
Equal Opportunities and Women Empowerment Award
Best Disability-Friendly Entity Award
In addition to individual excellence awards such as Best Team and Best Government Employee.
The University President emphasized the importance of thoroughly preparing nomination files in accordance with the specified criteria, and the need for coordination among faculties and administrative units to present outstanding models reflecting the university’s efforts in institutional development, digital transformation, and community service.
At the end of the meeting, he directed the Government Excellence Team to intensify efforts in the coming period and work collaboratively to achieve positive results that reflect the status of Damietta University and strengthen its presence within the national government excellence system.
