Today, March 26, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, witnessed the Fulbright symposium of the Educational and Cultural Exchange Authority between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America at the Steigenberger Hotel in Ras El-Bar, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Authority. This came in the presence of Professor Dr. Manal Awad, Governor of Damietta, Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Authority, Professor Dr. Al-Saeed Abd Al Hadi, President of Horus University, Professor Dr. Yahya Abd Al-Azim Al-Mashad, President of Delta University, and Professor Dr. Moawad Al-Kholy, President of New Mansoura University. Professor Dr. Mohamad Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Wael Abd Al Kader, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at the University, and Professor Dr. Mohamad Abdo Hamid Shehab, Vice President of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs and Acting Secretary-General of the University, also participated in the symposium. The symposium included an introductory lecture by the Fulbright Commission and an introduction to the grants provided by the Commission to support the education and technical education system, qualify young people, provide them with new opportunities, and develop their skills, in addition to the grants it provides to young people to support them in their professional path through fellowships and master’s scholarships that it offers at American universities. A number of graduates of Fulbright grants in the United States of America provided narrations of their experiences and the expertise gained on the personal and professional levels. It is worth noting that the Fulbright Commission Egypt is one of several cultural exchange programs in the United States of America, which aims to improve intercultural relations, cultural diplomacy, and intercultural competence in the United States and other countries through the exchange of people, knowledge, and skills. It is considered one of the most competitive fellowship programs in the world. Founded by Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946, offering 8,000 grants annually.
