University President Attends the First National Forum for Sustainable Innovation for Egyptian University Students at Tanta University. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, attended today part of the activities of the First National Forum for Sustainable Innovation for Egyptian University Students, hosted by Tanta University over three days with the participation of more than 20 Egyptian universities. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, along with a number of faculty deans and academic staff members. During the forum, Dr. Mohamed Hussein emphasized that this event marks a starting point towards new horizons for exchanging ideas and creating innovative solutions, noting that true innovation lies in the ability to apply ideas in reality in a way that contributes to solving problems and achieving sustainable development. He further added that the forum aims to instill a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, equipping them with the tools to build and develop business models, in addition to enhancing their creative skills. He explained that this approach is aligned with the vision of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who places youth at the forefront of his priorities, pointing out that presidential initiatives have opened broad horizons for young people to become active partners in building the New Republic. He also noted that the Egyptian state is steadily moving towards achieving an innovative knowledge-based society, referring to the recent announcement by Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, of the launch of the “National Policy for Sustainable Innovation” as a strategic framework to transform Egypt into a knowledge-based, innovative, and sustainable society within the framework of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
