The University President and the Military Advisor Inaugurate the National Education Course for Female Students at Damietta University
As part of efforts to strengthen the values of belonging and national awareness among female students, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, and Brigadier General Mohamed Mostafa Khalifa, Military Advisor to Damietta Governorate, inaugurated today, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the activities of the National Education Course for female students. The course was organized by the university in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, under the leadership of Colonel Ibrahim Mohamed Basla, Director of the Military Education Department at the university.
The Military Education Department is organizing the 46th National Education Course for first- and second-year female students during the period from March 1 to March 12, 2026, under the supervision of Brigadier General Mohamed Abdel Rahman Mesbah. The course aims to raise students’ awareness of the dangers of fourth- and fifth-generation warfare and their impact on the stability of society through modern means, as well as to enhance their ability to confront rumors and misleading ideas.
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Colonel Ibrahim Basla, and Brigadier General Mohamed Abdel Rahman Mesbah. A group of female students presented poetic recitations and religious chants that were well received by the audience, coinciding with the celebrations of the anniversary of the glorious victories of the Tenth of Ramadan, 1973.
In his speech, Colonel Ibrahim Basla explained that military education had previously been limited to male students, but was later developed to include female students through the National Education course for girls within the “Women in Society” program. He also highlighted the awareness-raising role undertaken by the Armed Forces in combating drugs and terrorism and supporting comprehensive development efforts.
For his part, Brigadier General Mohamed Khalifa welcomed the President of the University and expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Armed Forces. He emphasized that military education is of great importance in daily life, especially since women are the foundation of society and the makers of future generations.
The Military Advisor also delivered an awareness message to the female students about the importance of being cautious of unverified news and the dangers of rumors circulating on social media. He stressed the necessity of verifying information and referring to official sources, affirming the strength of the Egyptian army and the patriotism of its members, and the difference between those who belong to their homeland and those mercenaries who seek to undermine it.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie Al-Metwally expressed his gratitude to the Military Advisor and Colonel Ibrahim Basla for their sincere efforts. He praised the performance of the female students in the religious and patriotic segments and affirmed the university’s pride in its constructive cooperation with the Armed Forces in organizing such awareness courses.
The University President also expressed his appreciation for the students’ commitment and honorable participation, stressing that the university embraces their talents and supports their abilities in various fields. He noted that such courses play an important educational and enlightening role for contemporary thought, especially in light of current challenges.
He further stressed the importance of referring to official sources before sharing any information and avoiding being misled by rumors. He paid tribute to the Egyptian army, affirming that the army and the people are one hand, and urged the students to share the knowledge they gain during the course with their sisters and relatives to help spread community awareness. He also emphasized that Egypt has always been among the leading countries committed to protecting women’s rights and empowering them in various fields.
