The seminar was supervised by Professor Mohamad Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and a large number of male and female students from the university. Professor Hossam Shabka, Director General of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency in Damietta, and Professor Tarek Helal, Director of Non-Financial Services at the Agency, gave lectures. At the beginning of the symposium, Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally welcomed the guests, praising the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Project Development Agency. He emphasized the importance of such meetings in building students' awareness of the importance of freelancing and private projects as a strong alternative to the traditional labor market. He pointed out that the university strives to prepare qualified graduates capable of competing not only in the local labor market, but also in the regional and international ones. For his part, Mr. Hossam Shabaka, in his speech, reviewed the rules and mechanisms for obtaining loans from the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), as well as the target groups for the support provided. He noted that the agency offers a package of integrated financing and training programs aimed at helping young people successfully and sustainably launch their own businesses. Mr. Tarek Helal also spoke about the non-financial services provided by the agency, such as preparing feasibility studies, offering technical and marketing consultations, and providing vocational training and administrative qualifications for those with emerging ideas and projects. He explained to the attendees how to prepare an effective feasibility study and the stages of planning, implementation, and follow-up for any small project. The seminar witnessed significant interaction from the students, who raised numerous questions and inquiries about the required procedures, available opportunities, and the types of projects that could be implemented in light of the needs of the local market. At the conclusion of the symposium, the university president expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Project Development Agency and the speakers, affirming continued cooperation to hold further events and workshops that serve students and open new horizons for the future.
