Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, held a meeting today, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with representatives of Al-Tabarak Company for Construction, Engineering Works, and Project Management, which is responsible for the finishing works of Al-Ghali University Hospital. This comes as part of the ongoing follow-up on implementation rates and to review the latest developments of the project.

The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Acting Secretary-General of the University; Professor Dr. Hamdy El-Ghandour, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr. Bassem El-Deek, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Gamal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The company’s delegation included Eng. Helmy Raafat, Eng. Hossam Rizk, and Eng. Mohamed Atwa.

During the meeting, the finishing and rehabilitation works of Al-Ghali University Hospital in Al-Sho‘ara area were discussed. The company representatives presented a detailed report on the work completed so far and what is currently being implemented according to the specified timeline.

The University President stressed the necessity of adhering to the schedule and expediting the completion of the works to ensure that the hospital becomes operational as soon as possible, serving as a specialized university medical facility that provides distinguished healthcare services to the people of Damietta Governorate.

The meeting also addressed a number of challenges facing the progress of the work. The University President emphasized the importance of overcoming all obstacles and providing the necessary support to ensure the project is completed on time and with the highest level of quality.
