               University President Congratulates Champion Yahya Emad El-Gamal on Winning African Gold in Wrestling 2026.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, extends his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Egyptian champion Yahya Emad El-Gamal, a first-year student at the Faculty of Sports Science, on winning the gold medal and being crowned African champion in freestyle wrestling for 2026 (U20 category). This achievement came during the African Wrestling Championship hosted by Egypt at Borg El Arab Hall in Alexandria from April 25 to May 5, 2026.

The University President expressed his pride in this outstanding achievement, affirming that it reflects the high level of excellence demonstrated by the university’s students in various fields, especially in sports, and highlights the continuous efforts made to support and nurture young talents.

He also praised the role of the technical staff and the comprehensive preparation of the champion, commending the efforts of Dr. Amr Fouad, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sports Science, who was responsible for the psychological preparation during the championship and had a significant impact on achieving this success.

Yahya Emad El-Gamal’s victory marks a continuation of his successful career, as he managed to retain his continental title for the second consecutive year after winning gold in the 2025 African Championship, confirming his status as one of the most prominent -wrestling champions on the continent.

The University President affirmed Damietta University’s commitment to continuing to support its outstanding students and providing a suitable environment for developing their abilities, in a way that contributes to achieving more accomplishments and raising Egypt’s name high in international forums.
