A delegation from Delta University of Science and Technology visited the College of Agriculture

      Within the framework of joint cooperation between Damietta University and Delta University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, received today, April 2, 2024, a delegation from Delta University of Science and Technology to visit the College of Agriculture to enhance joint scientific cooperation between the College of Veterinary Medicine at Delta University of Science and Technology and the College of Agriculture at Damietta University. The delegation included Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Sayed Abd Al Ghaffar, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Delta University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Mahrous Al-Maadawi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Professor Dr. Tariq Abbas Al-Khouly, Professor of Nanotechnology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The University President accompanied the delegation on an inspection tour of the Center for Excellence in Research of Advanced Agricultural Sciences (CERAAS) in the presence of Professor Dr. Al-Metwally Salim, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Fathi Hamayel, Dean of the College of Agriculture and former University President, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Omran Wadi, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, and Dr. Khaled Abd Al Fattah, Director of the Center for Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences. It is worth noting that the Center of Research Excellence in Advanced Agricultural Sciences includes two phases. The first phase of the center includes the electron microscope and chromatographic analysis laboratory, in addition to the central laboratory, The transmission electron microscope unit is one of the most important units included in the center, as the unit can serve the university’s research and scientific activities at the bachelor’s and postgraduate levels in the College of Agriculture, the faculties of the medical sector (nursing and human medicine), and the colleges of sciences, applied arts, engineering, and archaeology, through the transmission electron microscope device. It is the latest of its kind in Egyptian universities and research centers. The transmission electron microscope unit aims to serve the surrounding industrial community, such as the New Damietta Industrial Zone, the Damietta Free Zone, and the Damietta Port Authority.

The second phase of the center includes many laboratories affiliated with the center’s units, which are:

1- Water Sustainability and Agricultural Systems Research Laboratory

2- Food and feed analysis and quality laboratory

Food and Feed Quality & Analysis Lab.

3- Agricultural Biotechnology Research Laboratory

4- Molecular Biology Research Laboratory

5- Spectral analysis laboratory
