In the Presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic. President of Damietta University Attends the Opening of the EDEX 2025 Defense Industries Exhibition

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, attended the inauguration of the 4th edition of the International Defense Industries Exhibition EDEX 2025, which was opened by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, on Monday, 1 December 2025, at the Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center.

The exhibition is considered one of the most prominent global gatherings specializing in defense and armament technologies, with broad participation from international companies and official delegations.

This year’s edition features the participation of 500 major international companies operating in the fields of defense and advanced technology, along with pavilions representing 25 countries from around the world, and the reception of official delegations from more than 100 countries. Tens of thousands of visitors and specialists are expected to attend, reflecting Egypt’s growing international status in hosting major exhibitions.

The President of Damietta University praised the distinguished organization of the exhibition and the scale of international participation, affirming that the remarkable progress Egypt is witnessing in defense industries demonstrates the state's ability to achieve tangible advancement in this vital sector, thanks to the vision and support of the political leadership. He explained that EDEX 2025 reflects the significant development achieved by national armament systems and opens new horizons for international cooperation in defense and military technology.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally stressed that the participation of higher education institutions in following such global events represents an important opportunity to strengthen the role of scientific research and link it to the state’s needs in defense industries and technological innovation. He also emphasized Damietta University’s keenness to support emerging trends in defense technology and smart systems, in line with the state’s direction toward enhancing national capabilities and fulfilling the requirements of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

He expressed his pride in attending this global event under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, noting that the exhibition constitutes a strategic platform that contributes to localizing military technology, enhancing international cooperation, and supporting Egypt’s ongoing progress across various fields.
