The University President attends the meeting of the Private Universities Council.

* The Council of Private Universities extends its thanks to the President of the Republic for issuing 12 presidential decrees establishing 12 new private universities.

* The Minister of Higher Education directs:

The importance of private universities marketing their academic programs to attract international students.

* Increasing the participation of private universities in development projects to address the challenges facing Egyptian society.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, attended the regular meeting of the Council of Private Universities, chaired by Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and attended by Professor Dr. Maher Mesbah, Secretary of the Council, and members of the Council, at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Council thanked President Abd Al Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for issuing 12 presidential decrees to establish 12 new private universities, including (Damietta Private University, Suez Private University, Damanhour Private University, Cairo Private University, Ain Shams Private University, Sohag Private University, Kafr El-Sheikh Private University, New Valley Private University, Fayoum Private University, Tanta Private University, Luxor Private University, Sadat City Private University. Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour emphasized that private universities represent a significant contributor to Egypt's higher education system and play a key role in accommodating the increasing demand for university education. He highlighted the important role private universities play in providing distinguished education through advanced educational programs that meet the needs of the local, regional, and international labor markets. The Minister directed that private universities market their academic programs regionally to attract more international students, through cooperation with Egyptian cultural offices abroad. He also highlighted the new approach adopted in establishing new private universities, and the investment of available resources to ensure sustainability and demonstrate the state's ability to implement successful national projects. Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour directed that the results of the second semester exams for the current academic year 2024/2025 be announced as soon as they are completed. Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour emphasized the importance of private universities expanding their plans for sports, arts, cultural, and social activities, and supporting talented athletes and artists during the end-of-year vacation. He directed that the vacation period be used to carry out the necessary maintenance work on university laboratories and facilities. The Minister explained that the relationship between public and private universities is based on cooperation and integration, directing the need to provide an advanced educational experience that includes modern interdisciplinary study programs that keep pace with the latest international educational systems, along with a new administrative structure that includes vice presidents for academic affairs, international relations and partnerships, and innovation and entrepreneurship. The Council reviewed a report on the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's most prominent activities during April and May, including a meeting between Professor Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to review the readiness and preparations of the new private universities. Professor Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the Council approved the formation of a higher committee headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and including the presidents of public universities and the presidents of their respective private universities. The committee will convene periodically to enhance cooperation between public universities and their respective private universities
