The University President witnesses the introductory meeting of the Egyptian Chemistry Fellowship Society

              Today, February 18, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, attended the introductory meeting of the Egyptian Chemistry Fellowship Society, member of the Union of Arab Chemists, at the College of Science, in order to exchange views on activities related to chemists and discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in the activities, conferences, scientific forums, and training courses offered by the association at the level of the Republic. It is worth noting that the Egyptian Chemistry Fellowship Association includes a large number of chemistry professors, consultants, and experts in various branches of chemistry. At the beginning of the meeting, He welcomed the members of the Society’s Board of Directors, and during his speech he stressed that the university opens its doors to academic leaders and his appreciation for the importance of chemistry in all aspects of life. This came in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamad Abu Dobbara, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Omnia Al-Batrawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Dr. Mamdouh Soufan, full-time professor of chemistry and former university president, and a delegation from the Egyptian Chemistry Fellowship Society, headed by Dr. Alaa El-Din Ahmed Attia, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sayed Qeshta, a member of the association, provided an introductory explanation of the association’s objectives, mission and vision, and among its most important goals: linking academic professors at the university with experts and consultants from factory owners and companies to achieve the desired benefit and integration between members of the science of chemistry at the republic level in universities, institutes, centers, research bodies, owners of companies and factories, and all workers in the chemical industries. The meeting's recommendations included establishing a cooperation protocol between the university and the Egyptian Chemistry Fellowship Society aimed at enhancing the role of scientific research in serving society and the environment. On the sidelines of the visit of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally to the College of Science, his Excellency attended part of the motivational seminar for young people to educate them about the dangers of abuse and addiction presented by the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, in the presence of Dr. Mohamad Shafie, supervisor of preventive programs.
