            The University President attends a scientific symposium at Delta University on "Legal Studies: Between Reality and Hope" Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of the University, attended the scientific symposium organized by the Faculty of Law at Delta University under the title: "Legal Studies: Between Reality and Hope", on Sunday morning, May 11, 2025. The symposium was attended by a group of prominent academic and legal figures in Egypt, including Professor Dr. Ahmed Gamal El-Din Moussa, Professor of Economic Legislation and former Minister of Education, and Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University. The university president was accompanied by Professor Dr. Samir El Gamal, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Damietta University. They were welcomed by , Professor Dr.  Yehia El Mashad, President of the Delta University Professor Dr.  Mohamed Rabie Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Delta University, and Professor Dr. Tamer Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Delta University. In his opening remarks, Professor Dr. Tamer Saleh emphasized that this symposium falls within the framework of the college's efforts to advance the legal system academically, research-wise, and professionally, linking theoretical study with practical application. He emphasized that the law is a tool for building society and preserving rights, not merely a set of rigid texts. Professor Dr. Mohamed Rabie Nasser expressed his pleasure at organizing this event, which reflects Delta University's vision to be a platform for enlightenment and community service. He emphasized that the Faculty of Law represents a key pillar in consolidating the principles of justice and building national awareness, and reiterated the university's commitment to its full support of the faculty. Professor Dr. Yahya Al-Mashad, President of the University, emphasized that the university leadership places great importance on scholarly activities, considering this symposium a true embodiment of linking theory with practice and of the university's vision of embracing innovative legal thought. In his speech, Professor Dr. Ahmed Gamal El-Din Moussa, Professor of Economic Legislation and former Minister of Education, praised the symposium's excellent organization, pointing to the challenges facing law schools, most notably the shortage of faculty members due to secondments. He called for the integration of legal technology into curricula to keep pace with the future. Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, delivered a moving speech in which he thanked Delta University for this generous invitation, emphasizing the depth of the close relations and fruitful cooperation between Mansoura and Delta Universities over the years. He also expressed his gratitude to the distinguished attendees and spoke about the profound influence of Professor Dr. Ahmed Gamal El-Din Moussa on his academic career, describing him as a “great scholar” who had taught him. The symposium featured a unique practical demonstration of a moot court by Delta University Law School students, demonstrating their deep understanding of legal theories and their ability to present them in a realistic, practical manner, which was admired and praised by the audience. At the conclusion of the symposium, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rabie Nasser reiterated his assertion that the Faculty of Law at Delta University represents a beacon for shaping legal and national awareness, noting the university's pride in its students and its commitment to graduating a legally conscious generation. At the conclusion of the event, the Delta University shield was presented to Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, in honor of his contribution to enriching this scientific symposium.
