The University President inaugurates and inspects the exhibition of graduation projects by the College of Applied Arts students. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, inaugurated today, Monday, July 7, 2025, the graduation projects exhibition for students of the Faculty of Applied Arts, at the college headquarters, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamad Abdo Amasha, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Shehab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Professor Dr. Ghada Al-Sayad, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, in addition to the college’s deans, department heads, faculty members, and a large number of students. The university president inspected the exhibits, which reflected a high level of innovation and creativity and were the result of continuous efforts by students who translated their acquired academic and technical skills into applied projects that address societal needs and enhance the values ??of beauty and function in design.
The projects varied to cover the college’s various specializations, most notably:
Spinning and Weaving Department: Displaying samples of upholstery fabrics, carpets, towels, and knitted designs.
Interior Design and Furniture Department: Presenting furniture projects inspired by Egyptian heritage and local environments.
Textile Printing, Dyeing, and Finishing Department: Displaying curtains with artistic designs inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization.
Ceramics Department: Artistic sculptures and aesthetic complements for gardens and open spaces.
Sculpture and Architectural Formation Department: Implementing sculptural works to beautify Kadroon Beach in New Damietta City.
Industrial Design Department: Industrial and service projects utilizing artificial intelligence technologies.
Decoration Department: Designing field and demonstration projects aimed at beautifying the campuses of Damietta University and Damietta National University.
At the conclusion of his tour, the university president expressed his pride in the level of creativity and professionalism demonstrated in the students’ works, stressing that these exhibitions represent a vital platform for embodying what students learn in classrooms into realistic products that keep pace with the needs of society and the labor market. He also commended the role of faculty members in providing supervision and guidance, affirming the university's continued support for such initiatives that enhance the role of applied education and innovation in community development.
