Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University and Damietta National University, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of Damietta National University on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the presence of the Board members. The university president started the meeting with a welcoming speech in which he expressed his happiness at the convening of the first session of the Board of Trustees. He emphasized that Damietta National University represents a promising academic institution that aligns with the state's vision to expand university education and falls within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategy to provide distinguished education that supports innovation and entrepreneurship. During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of important topics related to establishing the initial foundations for the university's work system. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for leveraging academic expertise to support the educational and research process within the university. In his speech, the university president emphasized the importance of concerted efforts during this phase to ensure a strong start that fulfills the university's vision of becoming a role model in higher education. He emphasized that Damietta National University strives to provide high-quality education that enables students to compete locally and internationally.
