The Central Administration of Scholarships announces PhD scholarships offered by the State of Hungary to obtain a PhD degree in English in any of the following fields and disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Information Technology, Technological Education, as well as any other fields of interest, including Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
Conditions for Applying:
- The applicant must be of Egyptian nationality.
- The scholarships are open to:
- Assistant staff members of teaching faculties at Egyptian public universities, institutes, authorities, and research centers.
- Administrative staff included in the official Scholarships Plan.
- Private universities and research centers staff, and Egyptian citizens who are not assistant staff members and who have no employer in Egypt (on their own expense / without cost to the Scholarships Administration).
- The applicant must have at least one year of service at their workplace before
1/9/2026.
- If the applicant is already registered for a PhD in Egypt, no more than one year and a half must have passed since registration at the time of application.
Scholarship Benefits Provided by the Hungarian Side:
- Tuition-free study.
- Accommodation in university dormitories.
- Entitlement to basic health services.
- A monthly stipend according to the rules applied in Hungary.
- The scholarship does not include travel expenses (round trip).
- The Scholarships Administration shall bear (for PhD candidates affiliated with entities included in the Scholarships Plan, and only for what is not covered by any other entity) the
completion of the scholarship value provided by the Hungarian side according to the executive program, as well as
round-trip travel tickets, in accordance with the financial bylaw of the Scholarships Administration.
- The Scholarships Administration does not bear any family expenses, in accordance with the decision of the Executive Committee of Scholarships dated
23/8/2017, as amended by the decision dated 19/11/2017.

Applications must be submitted through the Hungarian official website:

Required Documents for PhD Scholarships:
- A data form in Arabic certified by the employer, indicating the
date of appointment and specialization.
- A copy of the research plan in Arabic and English, duly certified, and a
copy of the academic CV (V.) in English, duly certified.
- A nomination letter from the employer.
- A letter from the employer stating non-nomination for any other scholarship or mission, and confirming that
security clearance forms have been sent for travel approval (for assistant staff members and administrative staff in governmental institutions and research centers included in the Scholarships Plan only).
- Original or certified true copies in English of:
- Bachelor’s degree certificate and transcripts for the four years,
- Master’s degree certificate,
- A certified copy of the Master’s thesis abstract.
- A copy of the online application form available on the Hungarian website, fully completed.
- A copy of a valid passport for at least three years (if available).
- A copy of the National ID card.
- The original language proficiency certificate (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 80).
- Applications outside the majors announced by the Hungarian side and stated in the Scholarships Administration announcement, as well as
incomplete applications, will not be accepted.
Priority of Nomination Will Be as Follows:
- Assistant staff members of Egyptian universities or research centers.
- Administrative staff in governmental institutions included in the Scholarships Plan.
- Staff of private universities and research centers, and Egyptian citizens who are not assistant staff members and who have no employer in Egypt (without cost to the Scholarships Administration).
Selection Criteria:
- Candidates will be ranked based on:
- The highest GPA in the Master’s degree, and
- The highest score in the language proficiency certificate.
