A New Achievement for Damietta University: International Accreditation for the Microanalysis Laboratory at the Faculty of Science
In a new scientific and institutional achievement added to Damietta University’s ongoing record of success, the Independent International Laboratory Accreditation Committee announced the granting of international accreditation to the Microanalysis Laboratory for Air Research and Climate Change at the Faculty of Science, Damietta University, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017, effective 6 February 2026.
This accreditation reflects the laboratory’s commitment to the highest global quality standards and the efficiency of its technical procedures in the field of analyses and scientific research related to air quality and climate change, thereby contributing to the enhancement of scientific research and supporting environmental and sustainable development issues.
In this regard, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabeea Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, expressed his pride in this outstanding achievement, affirming that the laboratory’s attainment of international accreditation reflects the university’s strategic direction toward developing the research system and upgrading laboratory performance in line with the highest international standards.
The University President noted that this accreditation represents an important step in strengthening Damietta University’s standing at both the local and international levels, and in supporting its role in serving the community and the environment—particularly in issues related to climate change and air quality. He also emphasized the university’s commitment to continuing its support for all distinguished research entities to achieve further scientific accomplishments.
The President of the University extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Mohamed Ismail Abu Dabbara, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Professor Dr. Mai El-Gamal, Director of the Microanalysis Laboratory for Air Research and Climate Change; as well as all members of the laboratory team and staff, in recognition of their dedicated efforts and diligent work that contributed to achieving this international accreditation—reflecting a spirit of cooperation, excellence, and adherence to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
